Additional tips for accurate self meter reading:
- Locate your meter: Your meter is usually installed outside your premises. It might be on a wall, post, or meter box.
- Identify your meter type: There are two main types of meters – digital and analog (dial).
- Taking the reading:
- Digital meter: Simply record all the digits displayed on the screen.
- Analog meter: Read the numbers on the dials from right to left. Note down all the digits, including leading zeros. If a dial is between two numbers, record the lower number (except for dials between 9 and 0, where you should record 9).
