Let’s pretend we’re chefs making a yummy Thanksgiving feast! Today, we’ll learn how to cook a turkey in a fun and easy way.
What you’ll need:
- Paper (construction paper is extra fun!)
- Crayons or markers
- Scissors (for grown-ups to help)
- Glue (for grown-ups to help)
Let’s get cooking!
- Draw a Big Turkey: First, grab your paper and draw a big, round body for our turkey. Don’t forget the cute little head, beak, and wobbly legs!
- Feathery Fun: Now comes the feathery part! Cut out colorful shapes like ovals and triangles. These will be our turkey’s soft feathers. Glue them all over the turkey’s body, making it look extra fluffy!
- Cooking Time! Imagine our turkey is in a big oven. Draw a big red rectangle at the bottom of the paper and pretend it’s hot flames. You can even write “oven” on it!
Here comes the fun part: Let’s write how to cook our turkey!
- On the side of the paper, write or draw little pictures to show the steps.
- Maybe we start by “washing the turkey” with a picture of a sponge.
- Next, we can “stuff the turkey” with a drawing of yummy fruits and vegetables.
- Finally, our turkey goes into the “oven” for a nice long nap!
Time to Eat!
We can pretend to take the yummy turkey out of the oven and share it with our friends (pictures of friends are welcome!). Let’s add all the delicious sides like mashed potatoes and gravy with drawings or cut-outs!
Extra Gobble:
- Write a silly story about your turkey’s adventures before it became the star of the Thanksgiving feast!
- Make a whole Thanksgiving dinner scene with other yummy foods!
This is our fun way to learn about cooking a turkey! Remember, grown-ups always cook in the real kitchen, but we can be chefs in our own creative way!
